Magellan was retained by the City of Baltimore to examine the City's extensive conduit and fiber infrastructure and design strategies to leverage it for the benefit of the Baltimore community. Magellan completed a Citywide analysis of the existing infrastructure and identified potential uses that were well aligned with the City's current capabilities and the broadband needs of the community. Magellan helped the City through an extensive business case analysis of the various options, costs, funding requirements and technical alternatives available to the City. A multi-year development plan was created to prioritize Baltimore's strategies based on the needs of the community. Magellan has continued its work with Baltimore to evaluate key redevelopment areas of the City that are prime for the deployment of next-generation broadband infrastructure.
