Digital Marin Engages Magellan Advisors for Regional Broadband Planning
Denver, CO, November 16, 2020 – Marin County, CA has partnered with Magellan Advisors to assist with develop of a Digital Infrastructure Strategic Plan for expanding broadband throughout the region to address the digital divide and promote economic development.
Magellan’s team will consult with Digital Marin’s Executive Steering Committee, which includes representatives from the County’s municipal entities, business, education, and community stakeholders, to analyze the current state of broadband including an asset assessment, gap analysis, and a detailed needs assessment that incorporates the issues faced throughout all Marin County communities. Using this information, Magellan will help identify strategies for expanding access to affordable, reliable broadband by using existing assets and by attracting increased investment in the region. Our team will analyze opportunities for grant funding, public-private and public-public partnerships, and business model options that will enable Digital Marin and its stakeholders to ensure equitable access. We will also work with Digital Marin to recommend digital literacy program initiatives that engage citizens across all communities.
The resultant Digital Infrastructure Strategic Plan will lay out a blueprint for Digital Marin to enhance quality of life, encourage economic development, and support innovations far into the future.
